Brexit Update

It has always been my clear aim that I want us to leave the EU with a deal. The terms of the existing Withdrawal Agreement in its current form are, however, unacceptable to Parliament. MPs have rejected it on three occasions, along with a number of other options put in front of them.

 

Statement on Prorogation of Parliament and the Supreme Court's decision

Let me start by stating that I have the upmost respect for the judicial process and the rule of law. The Government has confirmed that it will abide by the judgement, something that was never in doubt, while respectfully disagreeing with the Supreme Court’s decision.

I am delighted that this Spending Round is continuing to support people’s priorities. Investing in our schools, NHS, defence and hiring more police officers is what my constituents tell me they want.
