New Year and my reflections

With Christmas over and the decorations packed away for another year, it is good to take a moment to reflect on the past twelve months, as well as to look forward with hope and optimism to what 2018 holds in store.

Industrial Strategy recognising our eastern promise

Last Tuesday, the Government unveiled its new Industrial Strategy, a highly anticipated event. However, it has to be admitted the news was somewhat overshadowed by another highly anticipated announcement: the engagement of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle.

Patient data with patient outcomes

“Patient data is capable of improving patient outcomes”. This was the point I made passionately at this year’s BioData World Congress, held last week, at the Wellcome Genome Campus in Cambridge.

Just last week, the Government announced its latest step in helping to preserve our environment; introducing tougher new fines of up to £150 for littering, now including littering from vehicles.
