A good education is a cornerstone of ensuring people have opportunity to succeed later in life.

That is why I have been lobbying the Department for Education and Ministerial Colleagues since first being elected to invest in our schools. Suffolk has historically received lower levels of school funding when compared to similar counties. I have consistently pushed for fairer funding and I am pleased the Government is looking to increase minimum per pupil funding.

I am also a passionate advocate of Further Education and have worked closely with West Suffolk College to highlight their good work in Parliament and to feedback any issues they have raised with me. Seeing them grow and deliver more lifelong education into the area is especially pleasing.

It is also important that we invest in SEND and I have continually demanded that we go further on this issue. I will continue to push until I am successful.
